When is my tax for 2018/19 due?
If between 6th April 2018 and 5th April 2019 you earned untaxed income, such as that from a rental property or from a self-employment, you will need to file a Self Assessment Tax Return with HMRC.
The online Self Assessment Tax Return which you will be required to complete is due for submission to HMRC by midnight on 31st January 2020. Anyone found to have missed this filing date will incur a fixed £100 penalty from HMRC. Any tax which you may owe HMRC will be payable by midnight on 31st January 2020, failure to pay your tax liability in full will result in interest being added to the outstanding amount.
